Children love to have fun in swashbuckling pirate parties. This is the reason why pirate party themes are always in fashion. Parents keep hosting pirate theme parties again and again. You could start off by sending invitation messages for the party with a pirate invitation in a bottle beginning Ahoy Matey! It's entertaining and will set the mood.
The color scheme for this pirate party can be red and black. Use these colors for balloons, streamers and tablecloths. Put up a poster saying "AHOY - WELCOME ABOARD!" Upon arrival give the kids pirate patches, plastic telescopes and draw a beard with eye liner and tie a bandana around their heads or give them a pirate hat.
Focus around two ideas that pirates are an energetic lot, and that they like to take home lots of booty. Activities can include making spyglasses, pirate flags and one eyed masks. Fun games can include – Walk the plank, Find the crocodile, Pin up X on treasure map, Musical islands (using hula hoops), and of course the Treasure Hunt.
Fun food for this party should have hot dogs (festooned with pirate ships), goldfish crackers and the birthday cake in the shape of a pirate ship or treasure chest. Have lots of red ruby punch – the kids will be thirsty. Your pirates can leave with quite a haul, such as gummy fish, temporary tattoos, candy necklaces, chocolate gold coins, mini telescopes, candy and beanie parrots all tied up in a cloth sack.
